Trek Ha Giang Vietnam 8 days
Day 1: Bac Ha - Lung Phinh - Ta Chai - Pa Chu Ty II (-; L; D)

Pick up at Lao Cai Train station, freshen up, breakfast and then transfer to Bac Ha town let. Coffee break and then on to Lung Phin. Trek starts from Lung Phinh along a large path for 1,5 hour to Ta Chai village of the Phu La ethnic, one of the smallest groups in Vietnam with just about 6,500 inhabitants. Paying visit to a local home before lunch break

Continue the trek through a narrow valley with corn fields and terrced rice paddies to Ta Chai 2, another village of the Phu La and then onto Pa Chu Ty, a large village of the Flower H’mong. Explore this village for the rest of the afternoon and have dinner. Overnight at Pa Chu Ty.

Day 2: Trek Ha Giang Vietnam. Pa Chu Ty II - Then Van - Lung Cai (B; L; D)

It is interesting day today to trek through the region of the famous H’mong tribal people who are well-known for unique way of living on highest mountain with slash and burn agriculture in the past. Breakfast and depart at 09.00 am. Trekking along a narrow foot path up hills and down narrow valleys for 2 hours to Then Van Village of the H’mong, explore the village, paying visiting to several H’mong families who live in thick clay-walled houses.

Continue trekking for nearly 3 hours to Lung Cai, another Flower H’mong village situated on high mountain side and over looking down the Chay River. Walk around the village in late afternoon for discovery the unique way of life. Having dinner and overnight in home stay.

Day 3: Trek North Vietnam. Lung Cai - Hoang Nhi Pho - Ban Gia (B; L; D)

Breakfast, walk around the village for watching morning life and leave Lung Cai at 09.00 am. Following the trekking route to Hoang Nhi Pho through rice paddy and maize plantations 2 hours to Hoang Nhi Pho hamlet. Having lunch in H’mong family

Afternoon trek takes almost 3 hours towards Ban Gia Vilage through a very quiet region while the trail winds up and down on steep mountain side, offering stunning scenery of narrow valleys dotted with H’mong houses. Dinner and home stay in Ban Gia.

Day 4: Ban Gia - Nan Ma (B; L; D)

 - It’s a great days, today for enjoying breath-taking landscapes of the Chay River massif and Ban Gia valley! The trek commences from home-stay along a large path on high mountain side for 2 hours to Khe Phang village and slightly down hill for 1 hour to Nan Ly Village where the H’mong and Mung live together. Paying visiting to local homes, village school and lunch break.

 - Continue trekking about 2 hours through the lush farm land of the Nan Ma Commune in the afternoon and arrive to home stay at the center of the commune in mid afternoon. Walk around the communal center and market place for breathing of local life. Dinner and home stay with a H’mong family.

Day 5: Trek Ha Giang Vietnam. Nan Ma – Nan Lung - Coc pu II (B; L; D)

Leaving Nan Ma after breakfast, the beautiful trail almost down hill for the whole morning through terraced rice paddies and lush fruit farm to Nan Lung village. The Nung peoples who will be warmly at welcoming visitors with their curiosity at seeing tourists for the first time.

Lunch break and then continue along the same trail for nearly 3 hours to Coc Pu II, another village of the Nung for staying overnight.

Day 6: Coc Pu II - Sin Man - Hoang Su Phi (B; L; D)

It is a relaxing day, today. Leave Coc Pu late after breakfast for an easy walk 2 hours to Coc Pai town let of Xin Man District. Walk round the market place for an hour and then transfer by road to Hoang Su Phi. Check in the local hotel, lunch and then free to relax for the rest of the day.

Day 7: Trek North Vietnam. Hoang Su Phi - Tung San – Hop Nhat (B; L; D)

Breakfast and depart at 08.30 am. Walk along the upstream of the Chay River 5 km to Tan Tien, and then follow a foot path winding on mountain side of the Tay Con Linh mountain range gradually uphill for the whole days. Passing and paying visit to villages of the Nung and Zao ethnic peoples. The trek today also offers magnificent scenery of the Tung San Valley which runs from the foot of Tay Con Linh Mountain to the Chay River. Arrive to Hop Nhat village of the Tung San Commune in mid afternoon, explore the village, meeting the Zao Ao Dai(Zao with long dress) and especially contacting the Co Lao peoples, one of the smallest group with only about 1500 individual in Vietnam. Dinner and home stay in a house of a Zao Ao Dai family, Ho Nhat Village.

Day 8: Tung san - Dan Khao - Cao Banh (B; L; D)

Leaving home stay at 08.30 am. Trekking 3 hours a midst perfect nature surrounding uphill to the pass-top. Lunch break at a narrow passage called Heaven Gate. Descending for the whole afternoon along a larger path, passing through tea plantation and hamlets of the Dan Khao Vilalges where the H’mong and Zao live on highest elevation and the Nung and Tay live on the low land. Arrive to home stay at Cao Banh Village of the Black Zao peoples at about 4. Walk around for contacting locals.
